Samsung Galaxy I9100S II is a pretty powerful, chipset featuring a dual-core. However Samsung obviously decided 1GHz is not good enough for their flagship so they are adding even more oomph to it.
Office of Estonia the company has confirmed via their Facebook page that the two processor cores will be clocked at 1.2GHz, rather than the previously announced 1GHz. This update brings the Samsung Galaxy I9100 S2 of the upper class Cortex-A9, pure computing power, at least.
It is a surprising decision, we admit. We have never seen halfway jump processor specifications of the announcement to come out, but it is obviously the case, the official microsite S Galaxy II no longer mentions the exact technical specifications of the CPU, so that we do Cook can only assume something is there for real.
With that Update: We just got a further confirmation from an internal source that the Galaxy S II CPU has indeed been updated to 1.2GHz.
What we do not yet know is how this new chip compares to the new Qualcomm snapdragons, with 1.4 GHz dual-core CPU Scorpio. We guess we’ll just see in a few months time when the Galaxy and the S II HTC 3D EVO will both be developed.
It should be pretty obvious by now that 2011 is going to be as good a year for Android fans as 2010.
