Nokia's primary Windows Phone

Finally Nokia popular cell phone brand sent us details about their long-awaited strategy shift, and it's bombshell. The  number one mobile  phone manufacturer is adopting, wait for it's first ... Windows Phone as its primary smartphone platform! This doesn't mean that Nokia will just come up with a Windows Phone 7 device in a few months, the integration will be much deeper than that:

"Nokia will define the future of Windows Phone. Nokia will contribute its expertise on hardware design, language support, and help to bring its Windows Phone to a larger range of price points, market segments and geographies".

HTC Mazaa

HTC_MAZA BY (AHMED)

This phone's codename is  HTC Mazaa,  It's anticipated that this handset will join the HTC Arrive, which is nothing more than a rebranded HTC 7 Pro, on the third-largest US carrier's line-up within the next six months.

Most interestingly of all, this handset is said to have an IMEI number, which is an intrinsic peculiarity of GSM devices, so this may turn out to be the first WP world phone.

It was originally thought that a CDMA version of the HTC 7 Trophy will be launched by Verizon
rather than Sprint, but that doesn't look particularly certain right now.

Nokia reducing work employees in 2012

Sad news for employs of Nokia ,because they going to reduce there workforce in 2012. Mostly throughout Europe. The difficult decision was announced earlier today in a press release coming straight from Espoo, Finland, and hints that the company is slowly but surely moving away from its Symbian platform.

Out of 7000 thousand  the 3000  unfortunate Nokia employees will be transferred over to Accenture, a global business management and outsourcing company, so that they can continue developing Symbian software. However, the remaining 4000 people might end up relying on the company's re-employment programs, though this is still better than being on their own. The majority of the job cuts are expected to happen in Finland, Denmark, and in the UK, but it is hinted that employees in other countries may receive the same treatment if needed. If you happen to work at Nokia anywhere in Europe, you might want to keep an eye on your local job listings.

By releasing 7000 of its workforce, Nokia aims to slash its operating costs by a whopping one billion Euro by the end of 2013, most probably as a step towards shifting its focus on its strategic partnership with Microsoft and the development of Windows Phone 7 smartphones. Such a huge figure, however, might not be easily achieved within the given time frame so seeing further cost-reduction moves on Nokia's behalf would not really come as a surprise.

Stephen Elop really knows what is best for his  company, and we will finally get to see the partnership with Microsoft produce any tangible results. We just wish this would not result in more talented developers looking for a new employer.

Novatel 4510L 4G MiFi for Verizon Wireless Review

Introduction and Design:

The overall styling of the Novatel 4510L 4G MiFi has changed, with a shiny black surface on the top and chrome accents around the sides, all of which are fingerprint magnets, thought the lower edge and bottom of the device retain the familiar black soft-touch coating. The device is also fairly compact, at 2.36”H x 3.74” W x 0.53”D and with a weight of 3 oz, though this is still slightly larger and heavier than the Samsung 4G HotSpot. Included with the Novatel 4510L 4G MiFi is a brown fabric carrying pouch, 1500mAh battery, wall charger, user guides, and a microUSB PC cable that says it’s only to be used for device firmware upgrades.

Samsung Droid Charge Unboxing video

Samsung Droid Charge Video

This April 28th, Verizon will release its second 4G LTE smartphone, the Samsung Droid Charge SCH-i510, which will sell for $299.99 (after rebate) with a 2-year contract.. We recieved our review unit a few hours ago and so far we have been pretty impressed with what we've seen.

The large 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display at WVGA resolution shows crisp text and images with good color saturation. With the brightness turned all the way up on the Droid Charge, it is easy to view outside on a sunny day, where the TFT display on the HTC ThunderBolt is dark and hardly visible.

We also like that there are physical button on the bottom of the Samsung Droid Charge, similar to the Motorola DROID X, which cuts down on them being pressed accidentally. The overall size of the Droid Charge is pretty close to the ThunderBolt, though the ThunderBolt is slightly thicker and a bit heavier. But one thing we do prefer is the soft-touch coating on the back of the ThunderBolt, which gives it a nice grip, instead of the slick plastic back on the Droid Charge.

Included with the Samsung Droid Charge is a 1600mAh battery, 32GB Class 2 microSDHC memory card, wall charger with a detachable 1-meter microUSB cable, and user guides.

iPhone 4 Review

Introduction:

Mophie Juice Pack Plus is an iPhone 4 power pack that has impressed us with its capacity, but as it adds to the battery life, has it managed to keep thickness at the level of Mophie's previous product, the Juice Pack Air, and is it worth the $100 price tag? You'll know the answer to the first question from the get-go – the Juice Pack Plus is virtually as big as the already pretty thick Air at 0.71 inches of girth. It makes your iPhone 4 look like it worked out religiously only to put an amazing muscle mass of 2.5 ounces. It's not obese – it's bigger, stronger, with 2000mAh dwarfing the 1420mAh battery on the iPhone 4 and the 1500mAh capacity of the Mophie Juice Pack Air. In a nutshell, the Mophie Juice Pack Plus totally ruins the slim profile of your iPhone, but in return it turns into a well-armored soldier. One hardly fitting in your pocket, though.

Design:

Let's start from the beginning and that's how you fit your handset in the case. To do that you simply take off the top part and push the iPhone in for a snug fit indicated by a silent click. Mophie has cut out holes for the camera, mute switch and the 3.5mm jack, while the volume rocker and lock key are accessed via silver plastic buttons on the case. The only minor issue we noticed is that folks with bigger hands might have a hard time reaching for the mute button. Overall, the Juice Pack is a well protected case with a soft touch rubber coating on the back and matte plastic on the inside. We tested a black juice pack, but you could order it also in yellow, pink and blue.

You want an Android phone, an Apple iPhone or a BlackBerry:

When Nielsen asked U.S. consumers, that which smartphone they would buy next, the Apple iPhone was at the top of the list named by a third of the respondents. Android trailed having been named by 26% as their next smartphone. Now, it's a mere half year later and 31% of those responding said that their next smartphone would be an Android flavored model which beats out the Apple iPhone's 30% response by a hair. BlackBerry comes next with 11% of the total while 20% have no idea yet which model they will purchase next.

Plan to Avoid the misuse of cellphone SIMs:

KARACHI, 26th April 2011: Federal Interior Minister OF Pakistan Rahman Malik along with Chief Minister Of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah discussed law and order in the province at a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House on Tuesday in the backdrop of twin terrorist attacks on Pakistan Navy buses in Karachi earlier in the day.

It was also stated that the government had decided to revisit the Anti-Terrorism Act to provide protection to witnesses and to include use of electronic devices for acts of terrorism under its purview.

The government also took decisions on framing stringent rules for the issuance of SIMs (Subscriber Identity Modules) in order to break the network of terrorists.
Referring to the ongoing spate of targeted killings in Karachi, Mr Malik said that one of the suspects arrested in this regard had confessed to have killed 40 people. Another one possessed 500 SIMs and yet another one had more than 100 SIMs in his possession.
The meeting appreciated the government’s move towards curbing misuse of SIMs and cellphones.
Mr Malik was of the view that the major Sindh coalition partners — Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) — all were on the same page in dealing with terrorist elements but there were certain elements who were out to destabilise Pakistan through various methods.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah, with reference to the fresh attacks on PN buses, told the meeting that the police, Rangers and other law-enforcement agencies were put on high alert on the basis of available information but terrorists chose the target that did not figure in the plan.

He said that as a result of dialogue between political forces, there had been considerable decline in targeted killings in Karachi while kidnapping for ransom had also dropped by 38 per cent.

The meeting was informed that during January-April this year, a total of 557 murders were carried out in the city with an average of 4.9 per day. He said 153 people lost their lives in targeted killings, the average coming to 1.4 per day.

The meeting decided that pre-paid phone SIMs should be re-verified with ID cards within 30 days and IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) numbers of mobile phones should also be re-verified during the same period of time.

No new SIM would be issued to a purchaser rather it would be instantly posted through registered post as per the ID card address whether permanent or temporary.

Google Nexus S 4G

Google Nexus S 4G is officially set be release on  May 8th & contract price $200

It is Hard to believe, but it is true that Google Nexus S 4G is still one of the very few devices that’s expected to be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread from the onset, but thankfully, we’re now presented with an official date for its release.

At the end , Sprint came out to officially announce May 8th as the day when the handset will begin to go on sale through all Sprint channels. Even though some people might have been able to gobble up pre-orders of the device for some time now, there’s still going to be just a little bit of wait before they’re able to start playing around with this Google inspired smartphone. Obviously, you’ll need to shell out the usual $200 with your signature on a 2-year contract, but we’d imagine that some would easily pay the premium without much complaint considering the nature of the device.

With the Google Nexus S 4G arriving just before we’re poised to find ourselves in the simmering heat wave of summer.
