Boost Mobile launches at $129.99 Sanyo Innuendo:

When you are following up, after the one of the highest selling handsets ever to grave Boost Mobile’s lineup, you surely know that you have a lot to live up. Interestingly enough, the aging Sanyo Incognito has been around since the tail end of 2009, as a feature phone for Sprint, but the handset eventually now migrated to Boost Mobile – thus becoming the prepaid carrier’s best-selling handset on Sprint’s Nationwide CDMA network.

Luckily, it’s now being succeeded by the recent availability of Sanyo Innuendo, which retains much of the former’s unique aspects. And now available for$129.99, Boost Mobile’s version of the Sanyo Innuendo is very much like its Sprint counterpart in many ways –  its foldable QWERTY form factor, high-gloss black and silver finish, 2.8” WQVGA internal display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and external glow-thru dial pad.

Naturally, the handset fits perfectly with the carrier’s $50 Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage plan, which should no doubt contribute to its hopeful success – much like its predecessor.

Apple proposes shrinking SIM cards even further:

SIM  (Subscriber Identity Module) cards have not really changed much visually since their arrival in the market from 1991. Back then, they were the size of credit cards but a different and much smaller form factor was later adopted to enable their implementation in cell phones. That is how the mini SIM card was born; just 25 millimeters long and 15 millimeters wide, it is still being used widely today.

However, the time is changing and some manufacturers are starting to look for SIM even more smaller modules in order to save precious space inside their mobile devices. The even smaller micro SIM card, for example, is already in use in all 3G-enabled iPads and the iPhone 4.

Even though the micro SIM card's form factor was never widely adopted by cellphone manufacturers, but the Apple is suggesting that SIM cards need to be shrunk even further from the size of now a days. Last week, Apple's proposal for a standardized SIM card with dimensions smaller than those of a  micro SIM card was submitted to ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). It didn't take long before Orange, the world's eighth largest telecom operator and one of Europe's most popular wireless carriers, expressed its support for the proposal.

If this idea gets approved by ETSI, having “nano” SIM cards with a smaller footprint will facilitate the production of devices that are too slim for a common SIM card to fit in them. It has been also mentioned that we may see the new modules being used in cell phones as early as 2012. However, that prediction sounds a bit optimistic. Such a transition would probably take longer than that, if it ever gets approved at all.

Bill Gates pushed $8.5 billion Skype acquisition:

Former Microsoft incharge Bill Gates might not steer the wheel in Redmond any more, but he could have been an important factor in the company’s industry-changing $8.5 billion acquisition of Skype. In an interview with BBC, Gates himself noted that he was “a strong proponent at the board level for the deal being done." According to Gates it certainly is: "I think it's a great, great deal for Skype. I think it's a great deal for Microsoft," he added.

It seems that Bill Gates is still a strong influence for Redmond and if you’re living in the UK, so you can take a look at what one of the richest people in tech had to say about the growing importance of software and video conferencing. You can also check out how Skype made it from a little-known software company started in Estonia to getting acquired by eBay and finally to a staggering $8.5 billion value.

T-Mobile's road map is leaked:

A leaked road map for T-Mobile reveals the wide variety of devices which expected to be launched by this largest carrier  of the second half of the year. First one is the HTC Sensation 4G. HTC's latest Sense 3.0 is on board and an active lock screen brings information to you without having to make even one click on the screen. A 1.2GHz dual-core processor powers the HTC Sensation which is expected to launch June 8th, as we reported.

T-Mobile has a pair of models also set to roll out on June 8th. The Samsung Gravity Touch 2 and the Samsung Exhibit 4G. The latter, mid-to upper range handset with Android 2.3 pre-installed on the device. Also on the 8th, T-Mobile will launch the Huawei E587 "Wayne" , a 42Mbps HSPA+ mobile hotspot.

Samsung T499 "Tass" which  is essentially the State side version of the low-endGalaxy Mini, which is expected to be called the Samsung Galaxy Suit. Two weeks later,  the Samsung t379 Triumph gets shoved out the door, most likely as the Gravity 4, a refresh of the Gravity 3 feature phone.

July starts out hot with the HTC Doubleshot coming out as the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. A 3.7 inch WVGA display, dual-core processor, 8MP camera and HSPA+ connectivity are the highlights here. Next comes a T-Mobile version of the HTC Wildfire S called the "Marvel". Despite the name, this is far from a super hero with a 3.2 inch screen and an 800MHz processor.

July 27th brings the BlackBerry Monza to T-Mobile. A full touchscreen device, this is not a warmed over Storm. The Monza offers a 3.7 inch touchscreen with resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. A 1.2 GHz single-core Snapdragon is under the hood and on the back is a 5MP camera that captures video at 720p. With 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity and BlackBerry 7 OS installed, this is one of a few new models from RIM that could spark some fireworks for BlackBerry this year. RIM says that the new OS brings with it the industry's best browser and as we reported, the new software eats JavaScript instead of choking on it as it did in the past.

And later in August and September coming more.......?
