Handset reaches 30 million units sold
Samsung is jumping for joy at the moment and it's not because of the Christmas spirit - well, maybe the odd glass - but because it's S5230, also known as the Star but more likely to be familiar to you as the Tocco Lite, has hit the 30 million units sold marker, triggering the sound of church bells, honking car horns and screaming babies throughout the land.
Released in May 2009, the fast sales turnaround is, according to the company a record breaking performance. No other Samsung phone has sold so quickly, in so short a time, to so many (to misquote Winston Churchill). Fifteen million of those phones have been sold in Europe alone.
But that's not all, Samsung has also announced that it has shifted almost 10 million Galaxy S phones to its adoring public, which will mean that it will become the very first Android device to reach such a figure.
